I just released an update to my game Kinetic Assault.
I tried to make Kinetic Assault feel like a retro style arcade type game - complete 2D graphics, bad music, and a giant picture of the planet earth. What more could one ask for? (don't answer that. ;)
The object of the game is to get high score by deflecting meteors
back into space while avoiding alien counter-measures. Each time you
deflect a meteor, the kinetic force of the impact adds power to your
Kinetic Shields and increases your score. Your Kinetic Shield energy
drains away continuously. Deflecting meteors is the only way to
replenish your Kinetic Energy.
You control the speed at which you move left and right using the Left Axis control.
When impacting a Meteor, your speed will determine the speed and
direction of the deflected Meteor. When a deflected meteor hits
another meteor, they explode (I wouldn't have it any other way! ;). Exploding meteors add to your score but
do not add power to your Kinetic Shields.
The changes I have made in v1.0.3 include:
- new graphics
- new entities.
- improved controls
- New documentation screen.
- Faster game play
