Let's do a bundle.

Hello everyone.

My name is Josh Siegl and this thread is being stemmed from another thread located here: http://forums.ouya.tv/discussion/406/community-welcome-to-ouya-game#latest

@JamesS237 suggested that we collaborate on one big community game. While this is always a tantalizing idea, large scale online collaborations very rarely work. I've been the lead on quite a few teams that i've met online and every single one of them has failed. People either stop communicating, don't want to do the work, or never get started in the first place. As a team lead it is my job to motivate and inspire people to do their best work, it's my job to bring people together and keep them involved. I failed in the past, and I take full responsibility for it.

I would like to start anew with this fledgling community, i'm not a failure and I know that the developers here want to succeed as well. Therefore i'm offering to be the team leader on a little project.

The Mini Indie Bundle.

My idea which was started in @JamesS237 thread is one in which we all work together to create a small bundle. Each developer submits a small mini game (with an emphasis on the OUYA's unique features, if possible) which will be packaged together into the Mini Indie Bundle. Here is my original post:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mini Indie Bundle:

Developers submit mini games (with an emphasis on the uniqueness of the OUYA if possible) to a team lead (more on this at the bottom). Mini games MUST be in pure java (we're talking something small here, no big licensed engines or copy-righted source code). Developers will have their studio/handle listed before the game starts, as well as the box art for any other game that they decide to put on the network.

Payment:
none. If we decide to charge for the bundle all proceeds will go to a charity, otherwise the game will be free. Developers will be paid in recognition for their other contributions to the OUYA gaming system (see description above)

Team Lead:
I can do it. @JamesS237 I would love some help. please email me at joshsiegl@gmail.com
this is crucial, I have to see how much support I get through the quantity of emails that I receive. I can put together a small website and an official rule set if there is enough support.

About me:
My name is Josh Siegl, I'm currently going to school for Computer Science. I'm currently working on a game called Politico for the OUYA and various other platforms.

Experience: I've been the team lead for other online gaming collaborations, unfortunately most of these things tend to fall apart, therefore I have nothing to show for it. That's why as part of the official rules, I'm going to need a phone number and a Skype account so that we can stay in touch, I'll expect weekly conference calls at your designated time.

if you're interested please email me: joshsiegl@gmail.com (again this is VERY important)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

So, based upon that idea, I've started at thread to see what type of support I can drum up.

I want to make this thing free. I'll credit everyone fairly. I'm just offering my support as a team lead.

I can put together a sleek user interface and package everything up nicely.

Let's do this.
