About JSIDD Code Factory O
I've had the concept in my head since the CREATE contest but hadnt learn enough to g'it done back then. So when I saw the extra promotion offered to dev backer "get your game name printed on the retail box if you submit before March 28th," I was like huh, yeah need to do this. But then I got busy with school so yeah, I ended up writing "JSIDD Code Factory O 0.0.1" in about 4 days using some drawing code I had made back in the CREATE days.
The game doesn't look like much right much, and there are many more versions to come, but it actually has a fully functional game mode, called: MAKE OUYA CODE.
The game is played using D-PAD and like an old electronic handheld game. One press, one input, so it does not matter how long you press the input the effect is always the same.
It controls as follow:
LEFT/RIGHT D-PAD move the player
Moving the player under a letter at the right time moves it to the moving belt below.
UP/DOWN D-PAD swaps letters adjacent to one another on the belt below. UP swaps the letter that is underneath the player with the letter on the right, while DOWN swaps the letter that is underneath the player with the letter on the left.
You score by feeding the OUYA code one letter at time to the white square (pc). Blank letters do not break the sequence, but be careful not to overwrite letter by moving your player as a letter is dropping on the next player position. Also pay attention to how the letters are actually fed. The order is important.
So if fellow devs and/or anyone else are interested in trying it, please let me know what you think and more importantly what score you got here. Next version coming soon!
