Multispace - A New Take on the Cave-Multiplayer-Shooter Genre - Split Screen and Internet multiplay

Hi!

Here are a couple of screenshots and YouTube videos of a beta build (so not final quality) of our upcoming dogfight-multiplayer-space shooter game "Multispace". The basic mechanics are much like in good old Gravity Force 2, XPilot, Turboraketti II, Assault Wing, but we've put more emphasis on physics engine integration and usage. Multispace also has one special feature that will make the game unique inside its genre, but we'll announce that when the game goes live.

Anyway, here's the main feature list:

* Destructible terrain
* Free to play!
* Realistic physics with PhysX
* 2-4 player local multiplayer on the same device: split screen - got four Ouya controllers? :)
* 2-8 player LAN / Internet play with match making

I'll post more videos and pictures here later with footage of some of the features and weapons not seen in these shots...

Cheers,
Ville / Kanki Bros

Hey Devs!

I'm looking to see if we have enough content on the store - or coming in the next day or two - to maintain a section called "ONLYOUYA," which I meant for games that are on available on OUYA right now - not on mobile, Web, PC, other console, or anywhere!

Let me know here if your game qualifies - I'd really appreciate it!

Bovine Software uploaded a new video of Darkwurm yesterday. He is making a Ouya version as well as the IOS version. It looks beautiful and the puzzle elements makes it unique to anything I've seen coming to the Ouya. It's yet another game I'm really interested and I had to share it. If you like it, mention it on his YouTube video.

Wrecking Balls Arena - 4 Player Arcade-Style RTS (OUYA Exclusive)

Wrecking Balls Arena is an arcade-style RTS being developed by Team Kakumei EXCLUSIVELY for OUYA. Up to four players take control of teams of four "wrecking balls" in a battle to the death across 7 surreal landscapes. Each wrecking ball is managed individually as you command them to attack, block, heal, grab items, and more. If you're not efficient and quick enough, your wrecking balls will meet a swift defeat!

The game features a unique art-style, consisting of hand-drawn graphics displayed through a fish-eye lens, as shown in the our demo video:

The game is being developed in Unity3D, and we're planning for a May 2013 release. Let us know what you think so far! Any comments, suggestions, criticisms, etc. are welcome.

I don't see our game in the Store

We published our game on the 28'th, and put it in the Arcade and Platformer genres. It's not there in the store still as of today. However it is in the "sandbox" part of the store. What is the Sandbox exactly?

Also, the thumbnail shown there is the very first temp image (just some very bad programmers art) - and I'm wondering if that's the image everybody else see also or if it's chached locally on our Ouya.

The game is 'Bunibon 2' if anyone could be so kind and try and locate it in the Store.

I just really want to know what's going on here. Since the game was approved, and we published it, I was really expecting it to be in the Store from the start!

Discovery by developer

One of the big reasons we wanted to take our games to Ouya is that we could finally see us building a proper library there. You see we've been all over the place - Steam, 3DS, tablets etc and our players of one game don't necessarily carry over to our other games.

But if we had all our games next to eachother in the same store, and started building a really good 'library' of games there, eventually all games would be lifted up by eachother once one of them did good/great. That's the big idea anyway.

But.. there is currently no "related" or "more from this publisher" on the Ouya Store.

I guess it's still early days and the Store will see many updates going forward. Everybody's already talking about the Sandbox, so I would like to instead add in this - Please add a "more by this developer" function!

Pig Eat Ball (Party game)

Here's the most recent screen from our entry, called "Pig Eat Ball". It's a 4 player action game where you control a flying pig creature in outer space trying to eat the most balls first. As you eat the balls, you get bigger in size. Your friends can bump you on your tail though, which makes you spit out a ball.

As the game starts most players just try to eat as many balls as possible, but once someone starts getting really big, it's clear the other players need to work together, bumping the biggest player's tail to knock them down to size--if they don't, that player will surely win!

It's getting close, but I just got the game finishing with a wrap up screen last night. I think we'll have something nice for the contest!

Text entry? Chat/Voice?

Hello everyone,
I've released a couple of games for iOS and Android and I am now finding myself to be "Ouya Curious"...

I have a really fun multiplayer space game called Quintet where up to 5 people can control one ship (captain, helm, tactical, engineering, science). It's a really niche game, and I'm wondering if Ouya would be good for this sort of thing.

I'm thinking of making it work on Ouya... however you really need some voice or text chat to be able to communicate with each other.

Is there an easy way to do text entry on the Ouya or even better voice chat?

My game for those who are curious:

JSIDD Code Factory O

Hi, everyone :)

About JSIDD Code Factory O

I've had the concept in my head since the CREATE contest but hadnt learn enough to g'it done back then. So when I saw the extra promotion offered to dev backer "get your game name printed on the retail box if you submit before March 28th," I was like huh, yeah need to do this. But then I got busy with school so yeah, I ended up writing "JSIDD Code Factory O 0.0.1" in about 4 days using some drawing code I had made back in the CREATE days.

The game doesn't look like much right much, and there are many more versions to come, but it actually has a fully functional game mode, called: MAKE OUYA CODE.

The game is played using D-PAD and like an old electronic handheld game. One press, one input, so it does not matter how long you press the input the effect is always the same.

It controls as follow:
LEFT/RIGHT D-PAD move the player
Moving the player under a letter at the right time moves it to the moving belt below.
UP/DOWN D-PAD swaps letters adjacent to one another on the belt below. UP swaps the letter that is underneath the player with the letter on the right, while DOWN swaps the letter that is underneath the player with the letter on the left.

You score by feeding the OUYA code one letter at time to the white square (pc). Blank letters do not break the sequence, but be careful not to overwrite letter by moving your player as a letter is dropping on the next player position. Also pay attention to how the letters are actually fed. The order is important.

So if fellow devs and/or anyone else are interested in trying it, please let me know what you think and more importantly what score you got here.  Next version coming soon!

I have a Dev Console and I have recently tried some of the games and I find it hard to exit a game. I see this as a big problem.

Shuttle Rush

Hi!
Our first game, Shuttle Rush, is now available on the Ouya under Discovery/platformers!
This is only the first half of the game, and is available for free.
Shuttle Rush is a platformer/time trial/labyrinth game, where you need to make your way to the exit before running out of oxygen. Coins are scattered thru the levels and, by using them in oxygen tanks (also scattered thru the levels), you can replenish a little of your oxygen. Each coin is worth 4 seconds of oxygen.
We plan on soon releasing a leaderboard for the game, since a great chunk of the fun is, in our opinion anyway, beating other people's scores.
While you wait for the leaderboard to be available, we have implemented full of challenges that I hope you guys will try to beat ^_^
Each level has a time challenge, a coin challenge and a hurt challenge. If you beat the time challenge, you unlock the dev. best time, where you need to beat my own best time. xD
We, at Takusan Works, really hope you enjoy our game! It was made with love, which we hope, will show while you play our game!
Here are some images of the game:

Hey everyone! I hope you're all doing well. My name is Jamie Billings and I am a composer & sound designer. I create music, sound effects, work with interactive audio, and I love games! I'm here to check up on the process of the Ouya and to hopefully create audio for creative games that'll be released on it.

I have more than five years of experience specifically creating audio for games, a Bachelor's Degree from Berklee College of Music in Electronic Production & Design, currently work under the umbrella of inMusic Brands at SONiVOX (I do a great deal of audio testing, along with working with sound design to create patches for hardware & software by companies that inMusic Brands owns [Sonivox, Akai, AIR, etc.]) and at Berklee as a studio support monitor/tutor for all things audio.

You can check out my music & more about me below, and I look forward to hearing from anyone interested!
