Shuttle Rush

Hi!
Our first game, Shuttle Rush, is now available on the Ouya under Discovery/platformers!
This is only the first half of the game, and is available for free.
Shuttle Rush is a platformer/time trial/labyrinth game, where you need to make your way to the exit before running out of oxygen. Coins are scattered thru the levels and, by using them in oxygen tanks (also scattered thru the levels), you can replenish a little of your oxygen. Each coin is worth 4 seconds of oxygen.
We plan on soon releasing a leaderboard for the game, since a great chunk of the fun is, in our opinion anyway, beating other people's scores.
While you wait for the leaderboard to be available, we have implemented full of challenges that I hope you guys will try to beat ^_^
Each level has a time challenge, a coin challenge and a hurt challenge. If you beat the time challenge, you unlock the dev. best time, where you need to beat my own best time. xD
We, at Takusan Works, really hope you enjoy our game! It was made with love, which we hope, will show while you play our game!
Here are some images of the game:

Hidden in Plain Sight (local multiplayer-only game)

Hello Ouya friends...

I made a little game called Hidden in Plain Sight for the Xbox Live Indie Games platform, and am working on getting it ported over to the Ouya.  It's mostly working, with a few minor bugs here and there (sound effects don't play, for example).

I'm using Monogame to move from XNA to Mono for Ouya, and that's been working pretty well so far.

So, just wanted to pop in and say "hi".

I'm curious/skeptical about how a local-multiplayer-only game will sell on a brand new platform.  Will there be enough people with 2-4 controllers to be interested in a local-mp only game?  What do you think?

BombSquad: 8 Player Party-Game Madness (testers needed!)

Hey folks,
I've been working on a wacky party/fighting game called 'BombSquad' for quite a long time now and I'm excited to bring it to OUYA...   the only problem:  I don't yet have my OUYA.  So unless someone is willing to loan me one for a weekend I figure I'd just try to get it working best I can on my nexus 7 and see if folks would be kind enough to try it out for me on the actual hardware.

Here it is:

Would anyone be willing to give it a whirl and let me know if it installs/launches or if you run into any problems?  It has very generalized support for android gamepads so I'm curious to know if the OUYA controllers will work 'out of the box'.  (go to Settings/Controllers/Configure Gamepads if you need to tweak anything).
You can also use iOS/Android devices as controllers via the 'BombSquad Remote' app, and it supports up to 8 players.

Thanks much in advance and I hope you like it (well, if it works...)

IndieHex Studios is a small but dedicated team that believes a lot of great things can be accomplished when working in smaller groups that feel more like a family than a large corporation.

Our main game universe is called Dawn Earth.  It’s based off an unreleased novel by Al A. Pereira, where the year is 2175, the world is in the brink of nuclear war when an unknown alien species invades the planet.  All cities are turned to dust, the few survivors are trying to escape Earth and go to a colony in hopes to survive.  Your mission is to help these survivors escape with the hope to strike back at the aliens and retake our planet.  The genre of the game is a 3D space shooter, with episodic content.

The game is currently available for OUYAAndroid Tablets.  We are currently on a PC version of Episode 1, which will have support for Leap Motion, and a full release of Episode 1 & 2 aimed for sometime next year on Steam.

We have recently released our Developer Diary for the OUYA version of the game you can check it out at:

The Cheese Story

Hello one and all, my friends and I will soon be developing a side-scrolling platformer entitled "The Cheese Story." Intended to be more of a casual experience sprinkled with humor and wacky randomness, it is mainly a test for us, before we spend time devoted to the more serious ideas we have.
So, I'm curious before we get too far into it, is there an audience for something like this? And, if there is any help that could be offered, we'd be very grateful. I currently have a proficient knowledge of JavaScript, yet I haven't seen much talk about it on these forums, leading me to wonder if it's suitable for development on the OUYA.
Thanks in advance for any info you give, and I promise that we'll show some more of the game once we have something worth showing!

Dragon Maze looks amazing!

Bovine Software uploaded a new video of Darkwurm yesterday. He is making a Ouya version as well as the IOS version. It looks beautiful and the puzzle elements makes it unique to anything I've seen coming to the Ouya. It's yet another game I'm really interested and I had to share it. If you like it, mention it on his YouTube video.

FAST FAST LASER LASER (hiring a coder!)

Hey guys,

I'm Ryan Rigney. I make games, but I'm also a reporter for WIRED. I just recently I wrote a rave review of the Ouya which has been making the rounds. As you can tell, I like the Ouya a lot. In fact, I like it so much that I've become very interested in porting my Xbox Live Indie Game, FAST FAST LASER LASER, to the Ouya platform. It's a four-player local multiplayer game, and I think it'd work amazingly on the device.

Here's the website for the game: http://utahraptorgames.com/fast-fast-laser-laser/

And here's a totally bizarre but really awesome review of the game from Gamespot.com: http://utahraptorgames.com/2013/03/27/gamespot-ffll-reaction/

I want to hire somebody to port it. Yes, for pay. If you're interested and want to make an offer, hit me up at ryan at rkrigney dot com. I'm mostly interested in doing a revenue-sharing deal.

MMO? Hopefully!

Hi guys! I would like to get your feedback on what I've been working on! Currently it has no title, no story line, and it is pretty much just an engine at this point. Currently it uses graphics from the pokemon games for testing while I find a gfx person but that will change at release date.
Users will be able to make their own graphics for the game, upload them, and sell them in the game(they get 40% from sale, other 60% is divided between the team(as of right now it is just me)

Users will also be able to have/make their own worlds and servers with challenges for people to try. I might make the server open source for people to make custom scripts and such but that will be decided later. But aside from the main storyline that the game will follow, I want people to be given a chance at writing storylines because there is a lot of undiscovered talent out there and who know? We just might find one :)

Controls:
dpad - move
left analog - move camera
r1 - show grid
U,A - switch character model. Yes, I know, some are naked (I have to add armor/clothing)
(shitty)Touchscreen controls for android phones and tablets without controllers and at android 4.1.1 or above

Anyways.... I have a demo available and the inner workings of my server up... so I may as well let people demo it :)
Download the apk at http://mattlangdev.com/rpg/rpg.apk
And you can see all the world data and tilesets that I have at http://mattlangdev.com/rpg/
It's very basic but yeah.... thats it!

Hey All, wanted to intro our game, iMech Online to the OUYA community!  We were one of the lucky winners of the #myouyagame Twitter contest which gives us the chance to bring our game to the OUYA early!  We've been developing our game for some time before, so we couldn't participate in the CREATE game jam.

If you haven't heard know anything about iMech Online, it's a full 3D competitive shooter where players battle in synchronous online 8-player PvP mech combat.  Players can customize their own mechs, which each have unique Abilities that make them strategic in battle as well as the option to upgrade certain features of the mech with an endless amount of possibilities and combinations.

iMech Online will be fully cross-platform across iOS and Android mobile devices and of course, now the OUYA.

Here's a video we just made with our game playing on the OUYA:

Launch Updates for your Games

Hey guys, I am currently working on a quick app that will let you update any games that have updates available to them.

What will be needed though is for any developer who wants their app to be updated will need to upload the apk to their own web server so that my app may distribute it to those who wish to update without losing their data

My question is: Will you devs actually use this until OUYA comes out with a better way to handle updates? Or should I stop before I put too much time into this?

What it does is it looks at every app that you have installed and does a html query on whether or not it needs to be updated and then displays the apps that do need to be updated.

The success of this will rely heavily on the cooperation of the developers!

EDIT: Alright, You can now register your updates at http://mattlangdev.com/update/index.php Gonna upload the app to the ouya store now and wait for approval

Thanks for reading this guys!

This is an example of what it will do/look like

Bringing my iPhone game FishMoto to OUYA.  You're an electric catfish controlling a motorbike with really stretchy suspension.  You've got to save all the fish trapped in baggies before reaching the finish as fast as possible.  The physics allow some really cool things to happen with the bike and you've really got to think outside the box to complete the more challenging levels.  Check out the trailer:

Plays MUCH better with a controller compared to the touch screen controls on iOS.  Excited to get it in people's hands.  Should be available by retail launch date.

Let me know what you think!

CLARK: Save Nuclear Missiles On Mars

Hi, this is Matthias from GoldenTricycle. I just wanted to show you our upcomming action loaded puzzle-game CLARK, that we are currently developing for the OUYA.

Our Hero is a simple, hard-working industrial robot. He loves boxes - and order. The only thing he did during his entire existence is putting boxes - in order. Clark would probably have continued his well-structured work for another 200 years, if the factory's core control unit hadn't decided to shut down the inefficient production plant. Trying to repair the disassembled structures in his close environment Clark suddenly finds himself fighting a much greater chaos. As he continues his sorting routine our small forklift bot unknowingly starts a revolt against the ongoing recycling of his whole generation. Help Clark to survive the dangers of a collapsing factory! Try to escape the next-gen cleansing bots and rescue his fellows from the trashyard! This game features grid-based 3D environments, complex spatial puzzles and arcade-style controls. It's optimized for ARM.

Hi,

We are a small team from Sweden working on a game called Velocity. The game is currently in beta with a scheduled release June 20.

In Velocity the player uses their force-field to smash into other players, making them fall to their death. Inspired by an 80's rendition of the future, Velocity is an explosion of neon and over the top action. Use the boost-function to slam down upon your opponent or save yourself from falling.

A first trailer for the game:
