Work In Progress - The Hero's Journey, a Sidescrolling Swordfighter!

The Hero's Journey is a short, but sweet, side-scrolling swordfighter that combines 3D environments with the 2D locales of yesteryear.  The mechanics are based off of all the good parts of The Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, but without the game-breakers and utter fluff.

After acquiring a legendary suit of crystal armor, Tim the Knight wandered to the Kingdom of Aylea in search of medicine capable of healing his father's grievous wounds!  What Tim dosen't know, though, is that he's got a duty to the kingdom conferred by his very heritage - keeping the seal on the Supreme Evil Lord, who needs to stay sealed for 1000 more years!  However, some local Evil Lords have appeared and are trying to find the seal.  

Can Sir Tim outwit, outfight, and survive various Evil Lords and their Evil Castles, find the items to ensure his victory, and ultimately keep the Supreme Evil Lord contained?

Here, Sir Tim is introducing himself to the local government.  Maybe they know of medicine for freak spelunking accidents?  Or, maybe they just want to introduce the local ruler.  Governments are like that.

Having (finally) obtained a straight answer, Sir Tim sets out from Aylea Castle to the nearby town of Dunamne, in search of further information for both of his quests!

These two merry souls were just about to build a dining table, when this guy clad in crystal armor broke down the front door, and demanded to ransack the family's potent magical heirlooms.  They pawned them all off two generations ago.

While exploring the countryside, Tim the Knight stumbled upon a rather odd patch of ground, that contains a legendary Heart Rune!  Sadly, Tim's martial arts training prevents him from taking two steps to the left.  Swordsmen always fight along the line (in tournament settings...)

An anonymous tipster said a strange, life-enhancing rune could be found in a nearby cave.  All I found were smelly monsters, more rock than a music store, and some soiled armor.  That I'm wearing!  Worse, I have this creeping feeling that something's close by.  But, that's just crazy-talk.

Games Pulled From the Store??

I noticed that 3 games have been pulled from the store - "Blood", "Lord of Portals", and "Fist of Fury".

Why were these games pulled?  I noticed that Lord of Portals looked exactly like the game Hexen II, was that the reason?  Were these games ripoffs?

ROCK ZOMBIE: Classic beat em up gameplay

Effects applied: Bloom, fog , fxaa,  color & contrast correction, air distortion, particle effects and a few pixel shaders for the most important details. The major shaders quantity are vertex shaders.

I limited the framerate to 30 fps for get more stability but i could reach 45-60 fps with fluctuations.

What would happen if a concert of a female rock band was invaded by a horde of zombies? The answer to that question can be found in this videogame which combines both, classic gameplay from arcade golden era with state-of-the-art tridimensional graphics.

The game is in development for now but it will be available very soon.

I recently found about a skyrim and Elder scrolls like game for iOS called Ravensword. I have never played skyrim (or other AAA games) since I really dont have a TV console since the Gamecube came out. I moved on to PSP and now my Android tablet. any way..

I saw Ravensword 1 and it was great but Ravensword 2 its super console quality.

the game is made out on Unity3D. its just amazing thinking that most OUYA 3D games are made out of Unity3D but still are nice to play and view. I really want this game on the OUYA. I also want other games on it too, but some are basically imposible to get as saying gameloft, glu, EA, Capcom, Konami and other companies that already brought Games to iOS and Android, bring some of their games that can fit a controller to OUYA and let us play. So.. I just keep dreaming. or..  get them working with the GameKeyboard app and maps every god damn game controller and suck my self the in app touch controllers..

Hi!
Our first game, Shuttle Rush, is now available on the Ouya under Discovery/platformers!
This is only the first half of the game, and is available for free. 
Shuttle Rush is a platformer/time trial/labyrinth game, where you need to make your way to the exit before running out of oxygen. Coins are scattered thru the levels and, by using them in oxygen tanks (also scattered thru the levels), you can replenish a little of your oxygen. Each coin is worth 4 seconds of oxygen.
We plan on soon releasing a leaderboard for the game, since a great chunk of the fun is, in our opinion anyway, beating other people's scores.
While you wait for the leaderboard to be available, we have implemented full of challenges that I hope you guys will try to beat ^_^
Each level has a time challenge, a coin challenge and a hurt challenge. If you beat the time challenge, you unlock the dev. best time, where you need to beat my own best time. xD
We, at Takusan Works, really hope you enjoy our game! It was made with love, which we hope, will show while you play our game!

Opposites: a competitive/cooperative falling blocks game

Opposites is a multiplayer falling blocks games, where both players are on the same playing field. One player is white on a black background, the other player is black on a white background, and they play in each others negative space. You can work together to blow up your combined score, or just try to pwn your buddy. There is also an AI Bot for single-players that is actually pretty fun to play against.

This is a port of a game I released several years ago for Xbox Live Indie Games.  It looks pretty basic, but I've been working hard to get the Opposites gameplay super crispy and it's REALLY fun. The only thing left to do is all the Android specific stuff, hopefully it is relatively painless Assuming nothing goes wrong, it should be ready in a month or two.

I have been working on this idea for a game for a few years now. The purchase of an OUYA dev console was the push to get the project underway.

I now spend all my free time coding this project.

A Game Based On Dreams.

I'm in the early planning stages of making a game based around dreams. It will be similar to the dream emulator for the ps1, but instead of just being random it will be goal oriented with pleasant dreams and nightmares.

I need some dream ideas that aren't just my own so that I can make playable dreams out of them for the game. If you can remember some of your dreams and don't mind me using them, share them here. You will be included in the credits.

Cubeloid: 3D Puzzle Game for OUYA and more (Kickstarter)

Hi Everyone,
Peppergum games is excited about Cubeloid, a new, sophisticated puzzle game currently being crowdfunded on kickstarter. The gameplay consists of assembling dependent images simultaneously in 3D space. You can find a video, a detailed description of the gameplay, and description of challenge elements like freeze blocks and spin attacks on our kickstarter page.

We are eager and committed to release on OUYA as well as PC, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and Blackberry 10. We are also looking forward to our stretch goal to open source our code. We hope to make Cubeloid a great game for everyone and an educational experience for aspiring programmers.
Our kickstarter runs until June 29th, and we encourage any interested readers to be involved in spreading the word and supporting the project.

Multispace - A New Take on the Cave-Multiplayer-Shooter Genre - Split Screen and Internet multiplay

Hi!

Here are a couple of screenshots and YouTube videos of a beta build (so not final quality) of our upcoming dogfight-multiplayer-space shooter game "Multispace". The basic mechanics are much like in good old Gravity Force 2, XPilot, Turboraketti II, Assault Wing, but we've put more emphasis on physics engine integration and usage. Multispace also has one special feature that will make the game unique inside its genre, but we'll announce that when the game goes live. 

Anyway, here's the main feature list:

* Destructible terrain
* Free to play!
* Realistic physics with PhysX
* 2-4 player local multiplayer on the same device: split screen - got four Ouya controllers? :)
* 2-8 player LAN / Internet play with match making

I'll post more videos and pictures here later with footage of some of the features and weapons not seen in these shots...

GET TO THA CHOPPA!!1 for OUYA - written in C# and MonoGame

Hi guys,

I'd like to present to you GET TO THA CHOPPA!!1 for OUYA. It was first released for Xbox Live Indie Games on Xbox 360 and we ported it using Monogame, Xamarin.Android, and KonajuGame's excellent ouya-csharp wrapper.

We made some changes to make it run smoothly on OUYA. The major improvement versus the Xbox 360 version is that we can now have actual global high scores using a central backend (we use parse.com). On Xbox 360 we had to use some weird P2P hack to distribute scores between Xboxes which never worked very well.

If you are also working on an OUYA game using MonoGame let me know, I'd be happy to assist you with anything I learned by porting CHOPPA!!1

Hi All,

My game Crazy Cat Lady has just been approved for the Ouya store. It is a single player puzzle-platformer where you must control the cat lady as she guides her cats into their carriers.

All of her cats have escaped and you must help the Crazy Cat Lady navigate a plethora of perils in order to recapture them all.
  • Acme-esque Anvils
  • Spike-laden pits
  • Vicious dogs
  • Magical teleportation mirrors
  • Matchable crates that defy all known science
  • And more!

Play through all the levels multiple times to earn bonus stars (with additional gameplay modes).
